I haven’t seen Diane and Phil for way to long. We spent quite some time this past weekend trying to figure out when we’ve seen each other since our wedding… and we could not come up with a time. There was the failed attempt to get to Rehoboth last summer, and the summer before, and a few gatherings that we remembered from even longer ago. But no gatherings since September 25, 2011.
WAY TOO LONG.
I love you two. I’m so thankful for our short visit on this work trip. Let’s make it happen again, soon.

My schedule is a little strange this week, since I am working on Saturday night (but not really working – we get to see the presses as part of the internship). So I joined my favorite Stephanie and her friend (and her friend’s son) on a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo. The weather was nice, and the zoo wasn’t too crowded. And the animals came out to play a bit! A very worth-it visit and day off adventure.
For size comparison, see here.
Um, Steph – that’s not a zoo animal. That’s the baby.

Last weekend, I went to see one of my favorite families for some headshots (as well as schmoozing). Thank you to the photo gods who sent me a beautifully overcast day and kept the bitter cold away long enough for us to work outside.
Debbie Grossman: stage and musical director.
Rowyn Peel: actress/singer for stage and commercial work.
If you’re looking for great talent in the Maryland / DC / Virginia area, they’re top notch. Let me know if you want to get in touch with either one of them.

But thankfully, wonderful old friends.
Thanks to Debbie and Alan for a fantastic non-party and reunion with some of my favorite people, some new people, tasty home-brewed beer and of course, music that stirs the soul. Here’s to 2011, a bright star in the sky.
